Buying a Gift Certificate – FAQ
Q: I would like to include a personalized message to the recipient. Is that possible?
A: Yes! When you purchase the gift certificate, you will have the option to write a personalized message.
Q: Are gift certificates transferrable?
A: Yes, gift certificates are not locked to any particular recipient.
Q: Can I use my gift certificates for a different tour than what was purchased?
A: Yes! Gift certificates are valued at the full value of the admission for the tour selected. Recipients can redeem this value for any food tour. If the tour selected is priced higher than the value redeemed, the recipient will simply need to pay for the difference.
Q: Can I get a printed copy of the gift certificates shipped to the recipient?
A: We are also happy to mail your gift certificate (within Canada). Please make note a $3.00 surcharge fee will be added for printing and shipping costs.
Q: Do gift certificates expire?
A: Gift Certificates are valid for 12 months so your recipient(s) will have plenty of time to redeem their gift.
Q: Why do gift certificates appear to be priced higher than tour tickets?
A: By Ontario law, gift certificates cannot be charged taxes at the time of purchase. This is because gift certificates are not used to purchase goods or services until they are redeemed. Taxes are charged when the certificates are redeemed. Therefore the total value of each gift certificate purchased includes coverage for both the tour ticket price and payment for taxes when redeemed.
Q: How will the recipient know how to redeem?
A: Recipients will receive a gift certificate code which can be entered in the coupon field when booking a tour.
